Stone Oven is a Mountain-tier cooking station used to bake Bread, pies, and other uncooked meals produced at the Food Preparation Table.
How to Craft
To craft a Stone Oven, you will need 15 Iron, 20 Stone, and 4 Surtling Cores
To place a Stone Oven, you’ll need to have an Artisan Table nearby
Despite only using materials found in the early biomes, the ability to craft a Stone Oven unlocks only after you build an Artisan Table
A Stone Oven will help you cook some of the best meals while unlocking the full potential of the Food Preparation Table. Once you reach the Plains biome, you’ll be assembling meals at a Food Preparation Table, then actually cooking them in a Stone Oven. But before we get to that, here’s what you’ll need to gather:
Iron is obtained primarily by mining Muddy Scrap Piles in the Sunken Crypts dungeons in the Swamp, then smelting that Scrap Iron in a Smelter
Stone can be found on the ground or mined from larger rocks or ore deposits with a pickaxe
Surtling Cores will initially be found inside the Burial Chambers dungeons in the Black Forest, and later you’ll get it by fighting Surtlings in the Swamp
The primary way to obtain iron is to mine the Muddy Scrap Piles inside the Sunken Crypts dungeons in the Swamp. In order to get inside those dungeons, you’ll need to defeat the Elder, the Black Forest boss, and get as Swamp Key. The Scrap Iron you get by mining Muddy Scrap Piles then needs to be processed at a Smelter (Stone x20, Surtling Core x5).

Stone is a basic resource and can be simply picked up from the ground from the very first moments of the game. If you need more Stone than a simple hunter-gatherer approach provides, you can also mine larger rocks with a pickaxe. You’ll also get some Stone when mining Copper Deposits.

Surtling Cores are important for a variety of fire-based stations. You’ll find your first Surtling Cores inside the Burial Chambers dungeons in the Black Forest. There, they simply sit on shelves, waiting to be picked up. Once you’ve progressed through the game and need more Surtling Cores, when exploring the Swamp you’ll frequently see fire geysers. They act as spawners for the Surtling monsters. When slain, these creatures have a good chance of dropping Surtling Cores.

Before you can build a Stone Oven, or even see its recipe in your crafting menu, you will need to build an Artisan Table (Wood x10, Dragon Tear x2). The Dragon Tears you need for this station are dropped by Moder, the Mountain biome boss. When you have an Artisan Table set up, go to your Hammer crafting menu, find the Stone Oven in the Crafting tab and place it. Aside from having an Artisan Table nearby, Stone Ovens don’t have any special requirements for where they can go. Just make sure you place them close to your Food Preparation Table for convenience.

A Stone Oven is an extension of the Food Preparation Table. Before you can cook anything in the oven, you’ll need to go to the Food Preparation Table with the raw ingredients of a meal to assemble it into its uncooked form.
With the uncooked meal in your inventory, head to your Stone Oven and put some Wood in its lower part to start a fire. Then, interact with the top part of the Stone Oven and your uncooked meal will get automatically loaded inside. One Stone Oven can cook up to 4 individual foods at once.
After the meal is inside, you’ll need to wait for roughly 50 seconds. When the meal is done, you’ll hear a hissing sound effect and see your meal change color to something more appetizing. Interact with the upper part of the oven then to pick up your meal. Just be careful – if you leave a meal in the oven for over 100 seconds, it will burn into Coal.

Helpful Tips
The foods you bake in a Stone Oven are too precious to become Coal, so make sure you’re not leaving them inside for longer than 100 seconds
Since you need to assemble your Stone Oven meals at a Food Preparation Table, make sure to have them close by
A single piece of Wood will fuel a Stone Oven for roughly 30 minutes
