The Serving Tray is a tool you can use to place food, mead, and feasts in the world. While placed foods and meads only serve a decorative purpose, you have to place feasts with a Serving Tray to eat them.

How to Get

  • You can buy a Serving Tray from the Bog Witch for 140 Coins
  • The Bog Witch is found in the Swamp biome and also sells the spices you’ll need for preparing Feasts

The Serving Tray was introduced along with the Bog Witch, an NPC trader you can find in the Swamp biome. You’ll need to keep exploring the Swamp biome that’s not too close to your starting location. Once you’ve located the witch, a white cauldron symbol will appear on your map. For additional details you may want to consult our guide for how to find the Bog Witch. Interacting with the witch will open her store menu.

The Bog Witch primarily sells Mead ingredients and spices for cooking Feasts. Among her goods, you’ll also find the Serving Tray. The tray will cost you 140 Coins. You find Coins inside chests and as drops from certain monsters. You can also sell the precious gems you find, like rubies, to traders by clicking the gold coin button in their shop menu.

How to Use

  • Equip the Serving Tray by either placing it on your hotbar or right-clicking it from your inventory
  • With the Serving Tray equipped, right-click to open its crafting menu
  • Select the tab you want between Food, Mead, and Feasts
  • Choose the item you want to place, select a location for it in the world, then left-click to confirm placement

Once you’ve bought a Serving Tray, using it is as easy as any other crafting tool, like a Hammer. Equip your Serving Tray by either activating it on your hotbar or simply right-clicking it in your inventory. Then right click again to open the Serving Tray’s crafting menu. That menu has three tabs. One dedicated to Food, another to Mead, and the third to Feasts.

Food and mead you place in the world serve a purely decorative purpose. Feasts, on the other hand, need to be placed with a Serving Tray to work. Select an item you want to place, choose a location for it, then confirm your selection with a left click.

If you want to move or remove a particular item, the first option in each of the Serving Tray’s tabs activates the tray’s Remove function. It allows you to take the food or mead you’ve placed back into your inventory. You can also remove Feasts, however this only works to Feasts that have not been eaten from. If you eat from a placed Feast even once, removing it completely destroys it.

Helpful Tips

  • The Serving Tray loses 1 durability each time you place something with it. You can repair it for free at a Workbench
  • The Serving Tray description suggests you need a table to place a Feast, but in reality any flat surface will do
