Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards is an Ashlands-tier Cauldron improvement that grants you access to a number of advanced cooking recipes.
How to Craft
If you’re looking to craft Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards, you will need 8 Ashwood, 6 Finewood, and 4 Flametal
Despite being exclusive to the Ashlands biome, Ashwood doesn’t require any special axe to be chopped
To obtain Flametal you will need a Black Metal Pickaxe and some way of traversing lava, like Basalt Bombs or a tame Asksvin
When you reach the Ashlands biome, you will want to get access to its powerful cooking recipe. To do so, you will want to upgrade your Cauldron to level 6 by building Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards. That is if you already have a Spice Rack, Butcher’s Table, Pots and Pans, and Mortar and Pestle.
Ashwood is obtained by chopping the Scorched Trees that grow in the Ahslands
Finewood is gathered from Birch and Oak trees in the Meadows and Plains biomes
Flametal is created in the Blast Furnace from Flametal Ore found in the lava pools of the Ashlands biome and mined with at least a Black Metal Pickaxe
The only thing that makes Ashwood hard to get is it being exclusive to the Ashlands biome. Once you reach that fiery biome, you’ll never be lacking in Scorched Trees that grow all over there. You don’t even need any specific axe to chop down these trees.
The Finewood you get from the Birch and Oak trees found in the Meadows and Plains biomes, on the other hand, requires at least a Bronze Axe.

Flametal is the trickiest part of this recipe. The primary way of obtaining it is by mining Flametal Ore. You’ll want at least a Black Metal Pickaxe for that. But that’s not the main obstacle to Getting Flametal. The raw ore exists in these large pillars sitting inside lava pools. To get to them, you’ll need a way to traverse lava. You can do it if you’ve tamed an Asksvin and turned it into a mount. Alternatively, you can craft some Basalt Bombs (Asksvin Hide, Asksvin Bladder, Proustite Powder x3). When you throw these bombs in lava, they create a platform you can walk on.
Soon after you reach a Flametal pillar and start mining it, you’ll hear a rumbling noise. Turns out, these pillars grow on the backs of living creatures that submerge when you hit them with a pickaxe. Your job will be to mine as much Flametal Ore as you can before the creature submerges, dunking you into lava.
When you have some Flametal Ore, you’ll want to take it to a Blast Furnace (Stone x20, Surtling Core x5, Iron x10, Finewood x20) in order to turn it into workable Flametal.

How to Place
Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards need to be placed close to your Cauldron
A Workbench needs to be close to place Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards
Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards need to be hanging from the ceiling or a horizontal beam
When you have the resources needed to craft Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards, head to your Cauldron and open the Hammer crafting menu. Go to the Crafting tab and find Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards there. Don’t forget to place a Workbench nearby before starting.
Much like the Spice Rack, Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards need to be hanging from a ceiling or a horizontal beam. Because of that, it can be finnicky to actually place them properly. Just experiment with them and if you try placing them in a wrong location, the game will tell you what you’re doing wrong.
When your Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards are finally in place, the star in the upper right corner of the Cauldron cooking menu will show a higher number. If you’ve been building all the previous Cauldron improvements, at this point it should be showing a 6.

Helpful Tips
Every Cauldron improvement raises the Cauldron level by one. And even though you’re supposed to build them as you progress through the biomes, the order in which you place them doesn’t actually matter
After upgrading your Cauldron, you will still need to find the ingredients for the new resources before they show up in your cooking menu
When placing them, you can rotate your Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards with the mouse wheel to find a better spot for them
