Pots and Pans is a Plains-tier Cauldron improvement that grants you access to an expanded list of cooking recipes.
How to Craft
You’ll need 5 Iron, 5 Copper, 5 Black Metal, and 10 Finewood to craft Pots and Pans
Iron, Copper, and Finewood are relatively easy to obtain in the earlier biomes and you’ll probably have some left over when you’re looking to build Pots and Pans
Black Metal is easy to obtain in its raw form, but requires some advanced crafting stations to process
As you advance through the game’s biomes, you’ll want to keep upgrading your Cauldron. When you reach the Plains, you’ll be able to improve it to level 4, provided you already have a Spice Rack and Butcher’s Table, and get access to some nice new recipes.
Iron is mined from Muddy Scrap Piles inside Sunken Crypts dungeons in the Swamp, then processed in a Smelter
Copper is mined from natural Copper deposits in the Black Forest, then processed in a Smelter
Black Metal is initially dropped by Fulings in the Plains as Black Metal Scraps, then processed in a Blast Furnace
Finewood is harvested from Oaks found in the Meadows and Birches found in the Meadows and Plains
Pots and Pans is a very metal Cauldron improvement, as it calls for three different types of metal. It also requires some Finewood. You will need at least a Bronze Axe to chop the Birch and Oak trees that contain it. You will find these trees in the Meadows and Plains biomes.

To get some Copper, you will simply need to head to the Black Forest, find the large green Copper deposits on the ground and mine them. Then, take that Copper Ore back to your base and process it in a Smelter (Stone x20, Surtling Core x5) to get Copper.
Iron is a bit trickier, because instead of easy to find deposits, it mainly sits inside the Sunken Crypts dungeons of the Swamp biome. You will need a Swamp Key dropped by the Elder boss in the Black forest to get in. Once inside, you’ll want to mine the Muddy Scrap Piles to get Scrap Iron, then process those in a Smelter.

When you reach the Plains biome, you won’t actually need to mine Black Metal. Instead, it’s dropped by the goblin-looking Fuling monsters inhabiting that biome as Black Metal Scraps. The tricky part is turning those scraps into Black Metal. You will need a Blast Furnace (Stone x20, Surtling Core x5, Iron x10, Finewood x20) for that. However, to actually build a Blast Furnace, you will need to have an Artisan Table (Wood x10, Dragon Tear x2) nearby. To get those Dragon Tears, you’ll need to defeat Moder, the Mountain biome boss.

How to Place
You’ll want to place Pots and Pans close to your Cauldron
To place Pots and Pans you will need to have a Workbench set up nearby
Pots and Pans need to be attached to a wall
Having gathered all the necessary metals and wood, go to your Cauldron location and open the Hammer crafting menu. There, select Pots and Pans in the Crafting tab. To actually construct Pots and Pans, you will need to have a Workbench nearby.
With Pots and Pans selected, you will then need to place them. They need to be hanged with their flat side attached to a wall. Experiment with different placement locations. When you try placing Pots and Pans in an unacceptable spot, the game will tell you what you’re doing wrong.
After successfully placing Pots and Pans, interact with your Cauldron. You’ll see that the number in the star in the upper right part of its cooking menu has gone up by 1. This means you will now have access to additional recipes.

Helpful Tips
Even though you’ll want to keep upgrading your Cauldron as you advance through the biomes, the order in which you build Cauldron improvements technically doesn’t matter – they all increase the Cauldron level by 1
For the most part, you will need to gather some of the ingredients for a recipe before it unlocks in your cooking menu even if you have access to it already
You can rotate Pots and Pans with your mouse wheel before placing them to find the right spot where their flat side is facing a wall
