Plains Pie Picnic is a Feast that increases your health by 55, stamina by 55, and health regeneration by 4 hp/tick for 50 minutes. You craft it by combining 3 Bread, 2 Lox Meat Pies, 5 Cloudberries, and a Grasslands Herbalist Harvest at a Food Preparation Table.

Acquisition

  • Making a Plains Pie Picnic requires combining 3 Bread, 2 Lox Meat Pies, 5 Cloudberries, and a Grasslands Herbalist Harvest at a Food Preparation Table
  • You will also need a Serving Tray before you can place your Feast and eat it

Here’s a quick overview of the Feast’s ingredients:

  • Bread is a basic Plains food prepared by turning 10 Barley into Barley Flour at a Windmill, then turning the flour into Bread Dough at a Food Preparation Table and finally cooking the dough into Bread in a Stone Oven
  • Lox Meat Pie is an advanced Plains-tier recipe that’s cooked in a similar way to Bread but also uses some additional ingredients, in total requiring 2 Cloudberries, 2 Lox Meat, and 4 Barley Flour
  • Cloudberries are yellow berries that naturally grow all over the Plains biome
  • Grasslands Herbalist Harvest is a spice mix you can buy from the Bog Witch at 160 Coins for 5 units

Feasts are a special kind of food that can be eaten up to 10 times before it runs out. The buff you get from them lasts 50 minutes and tends to provide a balanced mix of health and stamina. Before you can eat a Feast, you’ll need to place it down using a Serving Tray.

When you’re looking to interact with Feasts, you’ll first need to find the Bog Witch trader in the Swamp. When you do, purchase a Serving Tray from her for 140 Coins. You’ll be using it as a tool to place your Feasts and decorate your base with assorted foods and Meads. While shopping with the witch, make sure to purchase the spices she sells. To prepare a Plains Pie Picnic you’ll need some Grasslands Herbalist Harvest. It’s priced at 160 Coins per 5 units and becomes available after you’ve defeated Yagluth, the Plains boss.

Plains Pie Picnic is prepared using the ingredients found exclusively in the Plains biome. Bread is very basic and only uses Barley as its ingredient. You’ll initially find some Barley growing inside Fuling villages. Whatever you find naturally, won’t be enough for all your crafting needs, so you’ll want to start a Barley farm. You can plant your initial Barley using the Cultivator tool (Corewood x5, Bronze x5) in the soil of the Plains biome. This will quickly multiply what Barley you have. You’ll then want to take your Barley to a Windmill (Stone x20, Wood x30, Iron Nails x30) to turn it into Barley Flour. Then, combine 10 Barley Flour into 2 Bread Dough at a Food Preparation Table (Iron x5, Finewood x20, Leather Scraps x15), and then throw them into a Stone Oven (Iron x15, Stone x20, Surtling Core x4) for 50 seconds.

Lox Meat Pie is prepared in a very similar way to Bread. Only when you have some Barley Flour, you’ll combine 4 Barley Flour with 2 Cloudberries and 2 Lox Meat at a Food Preparation Table before putting this pie in your Stone Oven.

Cloudberries are yellowish berries you’ll find growing all over the Plains biome. When gathered, they take 300 minutes to respawn. And Lox Meat is dropped by the large Lox beasts roaming the Plains.

Once you have everything ready, go back to the Food Preparation Table and combine 3 Bread, 2 Lox Meat Pies, 5 Cloudberries, and a Grasslands Herbalist Harvest into a Plains Pie Picnic. Finally, place this Feast on a flat surface using your Serving Tray.

Uses

The main use for a Feast is eating it. But you can also decorate your base with them.

Placing a Feast

You can only eat a Feast after it’s been placed on a flat surface. Put a Serving Tray on your hotbar and press the associated button to activate it. Then, click the right mouse button to open the tray menu. The first two tabs there will let you place food and Meads as decorations. The third Feasts tab will allow you to interact with your Feasts. Select a Plains Pie Picnic there and place it.

Despite what the Serving Tray description says, you won’t need a table for your Feasts. You can place them on any flat surface. When that’s done, approach your Feast and interact with it. You’ll eat a chunk of the Feast. You can eat from a single Feast up to 10 times. After you’re done with it, you can use the tray’s remove function to clean up after yourself.

Eating a Feast

Regardless of the extra steps needed to eat a Feast, they work just like any other food when eaten. After you take a bite from a Plains Pie Picnic, your health will increase by 55, stamina by 55, and health regeneration by 4 hp/tick for 50 minutes. This can be combined with up to two other foods or Feasts, but you can’t eat from a Plains Pie Picnic more than once at a time.

Eating from a Plains Pie Picnic will grant you its listed benefits, but they will fade with time. When there’s just 50% left in the buff’s duration, or 25 minutes, the buff icon will flash, allowing you to eat from a Plains Pie Picnic again to refresh its effects.

Helpful Tips

  • If you want to buy some Grasslands Herbalist Harvest from the Bog Witch, you’ll first need to defeat the Plains boss – Yagluth.
  • After you’ve placed a Plains Pie Picnic but before you’ve eaten from it, you can remove it using the Serving Tray and it will go back into your inventory. But if you’ve eaten from a Feast even once, removing it completely destroys it
  • In what has to be a minor bug, if you spawn a Feast using a console command, you’ll only be able to have a single one of them in a stack, but it will weigh 1.0 instead of 10.0
