Piquant Pie is an Ashlands-tier food that raises your health by 105, stamina by 35, and health regeneration by 6 hp/tick for 30 minutes. It’s cooked by combining 2 Vineberry Clusters, 2 Asksvin Tails, and 4 Barley Flour into an Uncooked Piquant Pie at a Food Preparation Table, and then baking it in a Stone Oven.
Acquisition
Piquant Pie is made from 2 Vineberry Clusters, 2 Asksvin Tails, and 4 Barley Flour
You will first combine the ingredients at a Food Preparation Table, and then bake them in a Stone Oven
Here’s what to look for when assembling the ingredients for a Piquant Pie:
Vineberry Cluster is a grape-looking plant that grows on the walls of abandoned Ashlands buildings
Asksvin Tails are dropped by the Asksvin creatures that live in the Ashlands
Barley Flour is created by processing Barley at a Windmill
Piquant Pie provides the most health out of all Ashlands foods without requiring any particularly rare ingredients.
Vineberry Clusters look like yellow grapes and grow on the walls of abandoned Ashlands buildings. When you gather them, there’s a chance you’ll also get some Vineberry Seeds. You’ll be able to plant these seeds in most biomes, including the Meadows, by using the Cultivator tool (Corewood x5, Bronze x5) to create a Vineberry Cluster farm.
Asksvin are among the least threatening monsters that live in the Ashlands. They look like overgrown Necks, and behave in a manner similar to the Lox you find in the Plains biome. When slain, they drop Asksvin Tails. It’s also possible to tame and breed Asksvin to get easy access to their resources.
To get Barley, you’ll want to raid some Fuling villages in the Plains. You can often find some Barley growing there. You’ll then be able to plant this Barley using the Cultivator tool, still in the Plains biome. A single piece of planted Barley grows into 3 Barley, allowing you to quickly multiply your supplies.
You’ll then want to take this Barley to a Windmill (Stone x20, Wood x30, Iron Nails x30). Building a Windmill requires an Artisan Table (Wood x10, Dragon Tear x2), which means defeating the Mountain boss – Moder. Load up your Barley in the Windmill from one end, then wait and pick up Barley Flour at its other end.
When you’re done gathering the ingredients, assemble 2 Vineberry Clusters, 2 Asksvin Tails, and 4 Barley Flour at a Food Preparation Table (Iron x5, Finewood x20, Leather Scraps x15) into an Uncooked Piquant Pie. Then take it to a Stone Oven (Iron x15, Stone x20, Surtling Core x4).
Load up your Stone Oven with some Wood, then interact with its top half to put your Uncooked Piquant Pie inside. It takes 50 seconds for Piquant Pie to cook. If you leave it in for over 100 seconds, it will turn into Coal instead, so be sure to take it out before that.

Uses
Food
Upon eating a Piquant Pie, your health will increase by 105, stamina by 35, and health regeneration by 6 hp/tick for 30 minutes. This can be combined with up to two other food types, but it’s impossible to eat more than one Piquant Pie at a time.
You’ll initially get the listed benefits, but they will gradually fade. When there’s just 50% left in the buff’s duration, or 15 minutes, the buff icon will start flashing. At that point, you’ll be able to eat another Piquant Pie to refresh its effects.
Helpful Tips
A Piquant Pie takes 50 seconds to bake, but after 100 seconds it turns into Coal
Once you plant Vineberry Seeds and get the vines going, they will continuously produce Vineberry Clusters without further input from you
Stronger Asksvin, those with stars around their health bars, drop more tails
Since you can only farm Barley in the Plains, having a portal near your Barley farm is a good idea
