Mashed Meat is an Ashlands-tier food that will raise your health by 100, stamina by 34, and health regeneration by 6 hp/tick for 25 minutes. You cook it by combining an Asksvin Tail, Volture Meat, and a Fiddlehead in a level 6 Cauldron.

Acquisition

  • To cook Mashed Meat, you will need to combine an Asksvin Tail, some Volture Meat, and a Fiddlehead in a level 6 Cauldron
  • The ingredients are common and easily obtainable once you reach the Ashlands biome

Here’s what you’ll be looking for when preparing Mashed Meat:

  • Asksvin monsters drop Asksvin Tails when slain
  • Volture Meat is dropped by Voltures that have their nests all over the Ashlands
  • Fiddlehead is a pink swirly plant you’ll see growing on the ground in the Ashlands

Mashed Meat is the first food to break the three digit barrier for health bonuses. And since it’s relatively easy too cook, this is the game’s way of saying that the Ashlands biome will be once again upping the challenge.

Asksvins are a common and not very threatening enemy you’ll find grazing in the Ashlands. These beasts are essentially overgrown Necks from the Meadows. When slain, they drop their tails. And if hunting them is too bothersome for you, you can tame and breed them for easy access to their resources.

Voltures are a considerably more annoying enemy. These giant birds tend to circle around you out of reach, only swooping down to briefly attack you. Ranged weapons or shield parries are recommended when dealing with them. They’re guaranteed to drop Volture Meat.

Fiddlehead is a common Ashlands plant. It’s pink and swirly. You’ll frequently find it growing around various abandoned structures. When gathered, it takes 300 minutes to regrow.

With all these ingredients ready, you’ll want to cook them. For that, you’ll need to upgrade your Cauldron (Tin x10) to level 6. To do so, you’ll place the following improvements nearby – Spice Rack (Dandelion x3, Carrot x2, Mushroom x5, Thistle x3, Turnip x3), Butcher’s Table (Ancient Bark x2, Corewood x4, Finewood x4, Silver x2), Pots and Pans (Iron x5, Copper x5, Black Metal x5, Finewood x10), Mortar and Pestle (Black Marble x8, Finewood x6, Corewood x4), and Rolling Pins and Cutting Boards (Ashwood x8, Finewood x6, Flametal x4). When that’s done, simply interact with the Cauldron and combine an Asksvin Tail, Volture Meat, and a Fiddlehead into Mashed Meat.

Uses

Food

When you eat Mashed Meat, your health will increase by 100, stamina by 34, and health regeneration by 6 hp/tick for 25 minutes. This can be combined with up to two other foods, but it’s impossible to ear more than one plate of Mashed Meat at once.

Initially, Mashed Meat will provide its listed benefits, but the buff will grow weaker with time. When there’s just 50% left in its duration, or 12.5 minutes, the buff icon will begin flashing and you’ll be able to eat some more Mashed Meat and refresh its effects.

Helpful Tips

  • Stronger Asksvins, those with stars around their health bars, drop more tails
  • Voltures can be found throughout the Ashlands, but you’re also guaranteed to meet some near their nests that look like bone piles on the ground
  • When picked, Fiddlehead takes 300 minutes to respawn, so make sure to mark Fiddlehead-rich spots on your map
