Jotun Puffs are a basic Mistlands-tier food that increases your health by 25, stamina by 25, and health regeneration by 1 hp/tick for 15 minutes. They’re also used in several advanced recipes.
Acquisition
Jotun Puffs are bulbous orange mushrooms growing in the Mistlands biome
Once found, you can plant them within the Mistlands with the Cultivator tool to multiply them
It takes several in-game days for planted Jotun Puffs to grow
Jotun Puffs grow exclusively in the Mistlands biome. You will recognize them by their bulbous shape and orange glow. Once you find some, you might want to use them to start a Jotun Puffs farm. You can plant them in the Mistlands biome using the Cultivator tool and save yourself from having to go look for more when you need them for the more advanced recipes. Unlike some earlier crops, you can simply plant the mushrooms directly. One planted Jotun Puff produces three new ones after growing.
Jotun Puffs growing in the Mistlands
After you find your first Jotun Puffs, you will want to use them to start a farm. These mushrooms can only grow in their native biome – Mistlands. So, your first task will be finding a relatively flat and secluded area that isn’t being constantly attacked by monsters. Once you find such a spot, placing a small base and portal nearby is advisable.
To actually do some farming, you’ll need the Cultivator tool (Corewood x5, Bronze x5). Equip the Cultivator and right click with it selected on your hotbar. In the menu that appears, select Cultivate and then start left-clicking on the ground to create soil fit for planting. Once you have enough soil, right click again and select Jotun Puffs. Plant them in the cultivated soil, then wait for several in-game days. Then go back to your farm and you’ll be able to harvest your Jotun Puffs. For each Jotun Puff you plant, you’ll get three back.
To properly grow, all crops need some free space, so don’t plant them too close to each other or other solid objects. When you plant a crop right, hovering your cursor over it will tell you it’s healthy. Otherwise you’ll get a message telling you that a crop needs more room to grow.

Food
When eaten raw, Jotun Puffs increase your health by 25, stamina by 25, and health regeneration by 1 hp/tick for 15 minutes. These bonuses are not very competitive with other foods you can eat when exploring the Mistlands, and so Jotun Puffs should only be eaten raw as a last resort.
If you do want to eat a Jotun Puff, you can simply right click it in your inventory. You can eat them together with two other types of food, but you can’t eat more than a single Jotun Puff at once. Eating a Jotun Puff will provide you with the full buff. As time goes on, this buff will fade. When it’s down to 50% or 7.5 minutes in the case of Jotun Puffs, the buff icon will begin flashing and you’ll be able to eat another one and refresh the effects.
Cooking & Brewing
Jotun Puffs are an integral part of multiple high-tier meals, and can also be used to brew certain advanced Meads. Check out the Recipes section for the full list.
Farming
You can plant Jotun Puffs in the Mistlands in order to multiply your supplies of these mushrooms. Planting a single Jotun Puff produces three new ones.
