Cooked Wolf Meat is the easiest way to process the meat you get after fighting Wolves in the Mountains.

Acquisition

  • Cooked Wolf Meat is produced by roasting Wolf Meat on a Cooking Station over a Campfire
  • It takes 25 seconds for Cooked Wolf Meat to prepare
  • If you leave it on the fire for too long, it will turn into Coal

Wolves are the natural inhabitants of Valheim’s snowy Mountain biome. They’re aggressive, tough, fast, and tend to travel in packs. Usually you find them deep inside the biome, with extra wolf spawns happening at night. Make sure you have strong weapons when facing wolves. A shield also helps. Defeated wolves drop Wolf Meat among other things. Eventually you’ll be able to tame and breed wolves, providing you with easy access to their resources.

When you take Wolf Meat to an active Cooking Station (Wood x2), you’ll be able to roast it and turn it into Cooked Wolf Meat. Just throw it on and wait 25 seconds. Make sure you grab your Cooked Wolf Meat soon after it’s done. If you leave it on the fire for too long, it will turn into coal.

Uses

  • Food

Food

Upon eating Cooked Wolf Meat, your health will increase by 40, stamina by 15, and your health regeneration by 3 hp/tick for 20 minutes. To eat it, all you have to do is right click on the Cooked Wolf Meat icon in your inventory. You can eat it together with up to two other food types, but you can’t eat more than a single instance of Cooked Wolf Meat at a time.

Initially, Cooked Wolf Meat will grant you its full effects. This buff will fade over time. When it’s down to 50% of its duration, or 10 minutes, the buff icon will begin flashing and you’ll be able to eat another Cooked Wolf Meat and refresh its effects.

Helpful Tips

  • Wolves live in the Mountains, so when out hunting them, make sure you have a way to defend against the cold, and a good ranged weapon to deal with the drakes also inhabiting the area.
  • The strongest wolves, those with two stars around their health bars, only spawn at night and disappear during the day. These will drop significantly more meat when slain.
  • Intentionally overcooking Wolf Meat will grant you some Coal without the use of a Charcoal Kiln.
