Cooked Asksvin Tail will provide you with a nice health and regeneration boost when you reach the Ashlands biome.

Acquisition

  • To obtain Cooked Asksvin Tail, you will need to hunt the Asksvin creatures inhabiting the Ashlands biome, then cook the tails they drop on an Iron Cooking Station
  • Unlike most Iron Cooking Station foods, it only takes 25 seconds for an Asksvin Tail to roast
  • Leaving an Asksvin Tail cooking for too long will turn it into Coal

Asksvin are the least unpleasant enemies you’ll encounter in the Ashlands. They resemble larger charred Necks and behave in a similar way except for their powerful jump attack you’ll really want to avoid. When slain, they will drop their tails that you will then be able to cook. With some effort, you’ll be able to tame the wild Asksvin to get easy access to their resources and even turn them into lava-proof mounts.

When you have an Asksvin Tail, take it to an Iron Cooking Station (Iron x3, Chain x3) and place it there. It will take 25 seconds for the tail to cook, so make sure you don’t leave it on the fire for too long. Otherwise, it will turn into Coal.

Food

Eating a Cooked Asksvin Tail will raise your health by 70, stamina by 24, and health regeneration by 6 hp/tick for 20 minutes. To eat it, all you have to do is right click the Cooked Asksvin Tail icon in your inventory. You can combine it with up to two other food sources, but you can’t eat more than a single Cooked Asksvin Tail at once.

Upon eating a Cooked Asksvin Tail, you will receive its full bonuses. They will grow weaker with time. When the buff’s duration reaches 50% or 10 minutes, the buff icon will begin flashing and you’ll be able to eat another Cooked Asksvin Tail.

Feast Ingredient

The Bog Witch update introduced the Bog Witch NPC trader to the game. Among her wares is the Serving Tray you can buy for 140 Coins and some spices you can use to put together Feasts. One of them requires a few Cooked Asksvin Tails. Check out the Recipes section for more information on that.

Helpful Tips

  • At night, stronger Asksvins with stars around their health bar can spawn. They drop more tails when slain.
