Bread is a Plains-tier food that increases your health by 23, stamina by 70, and health regeneration by 2 hp/tick for 25 minutes. To cook 2 Bread, you’ll combine 10 Barley Flour into 2 Bread Dough at a Food Preparation Table and then bake them in a Stone Oven.
Acquisition
The only ingredient you’ll need for Bread is Barley Flour that’s very easy to produce once you have a Barley farm running
Crafting stations you’ll need to cook Bread include a Windmill, Food Preparation Table, and Stone Oven
Bread is an introductory recipe that teaches you the value of the Stone Oven (Iron x15, Stone x20, Surtling Core x4). Using a single, easily-obtained ingredient, this recipe supplies you with a stamina-boosting food that’s almost on par with the best the Plains biome has to offer.
Before you can start cooking Bread, you will need some Barley. You generally find your first supply of Barley growing naturally in Fuling villages in the Plains biome. With those few stalks of Barley, you’ll be able to start your own farm. Barley can only grow inside the Plains biome. It can be planted with the Cultivator tool (Corewood x5, Bronze x5). Each Barley you plant will produce 3 Barley when grown.
With a steady stream of Barley coming in, you’ll need to process it into Barley Flour. You will need a Windmill (Stone x20, Wood x30, Iron Nails x30) for that. Setting up a Windmill requires an Artisan Table (Wood x10, Dragon Tear x2) nearby. You can build one after you’ve defeated Moder, the Mountain biome boss. You’ll also need the Artisan Table when placing down your Stone Ovens. Simply load up your Windmill with up to 50 Barley, and let it work. After a while, come back and pick up your processed Barley Flour.
You’ll then need a Food Preparation Table (Iron x5, Finewood x20, Leather Scraps x15). Interact with the Food Preparation Table and combine 10 Barley Flour into 2 pieces of Bread Dough.
Take the Bread Dough to a Stone Oven. Interacting with its bottom part allows you to load it up with up to 10 Wood and start a fire. With the fire going, interact with its upper part and whatever cookable items you have in your inventory will get loaded up. You can have up to 4 food items cooking in a single oven at a time. It takes 50 seconds for Bread Dough to cook into Bread. Once it’s ready, you’ll hear a hissing noise and see a lot of smoke coming out of the oven. Interacting with the top part at that point will unload the cooked Bread. Just be careful not to leave the dough on the fire for too long, or it will turn into Coal.

Food
Eating Bread raises your health by 23, stamina by 70, and health regeneration by 2 hp/tick for 25 minutes. You can combine it with up to two other food types, but can’t eat more than a single loaf of Bread at a time.
The buff you get from eating Bread starts out strong but fades over time. When there’s just 50% duration left, or 12.5 minutes, the buff icon will begin flashing, allowing you to eat another Bread and refresh the buff.
Feast Ingredient
The Bog Witch trader you can find in the Swamp sells the Serving Tray item for 140 Coins which, along with some spices the witch also sells, enables the Feast system. Bread is an ingredient in one of the game’s Feasts. Check the Recipes section below for more details.
