Black Forest Buffet Platter is a Feast that raises your health by 35, stamina by 35, and health regeneration by 3 hp/tick for 50 minutes. You’ll need 3 Deer Stew, 5 Thistle, 4 Queen’s Jam, and a Woodland Herb Blend to craft it.

Acquisition

  • Black Forest Buffet Platter is created by combining 3 Deer Stew, 5 Thistle, 4 Queen’s Jam, and a Woodland Herb Blend at a Food Preparation Table
  • Even though it uses Black Forest-tier foods as its ingredients, creating and using a Black Forest Buffet Platter also requires a Woodland Herb Blend and a Serving Tray you get from the Bog Witch in the Swamp
  • If you want to eat a Black Forest Buffet Platter, you’ll first need to place it on a flat surface using a Serving Tray as a tool

This is what you’ll need before you can assemble a Black Forest Buffet Platter:

  • Deer Stew is a Black Forest-tier recipe created by combining Cooked Deer Meat, Blueberries, and a Carrot in a basic Cauldron
  • Thistle is a thin glowing plant that grows in the Black Forest and Swamp biomes
  • Queen’s Jam is a Black Forest-tier food you make by combining 8 Raspberries and 6 Blueberries in a basic Cauldron
  • Woodland Herb Blend is a spice blend you buy from the Bog Witch in bundles of 5 for 120 Coins

Feasts are a unique type of food that provides a 50-minute buff, and can be eaten 10 times before it runs out. You’ll need to use a Serving Tray to place your Feast on a flat surface before you can eat it.

To interact with the Feast system, you’ll first need to find the Bog Witch trader who lives in the Swamp biome. Once you find her, you’ll need to purchase a Serving Tray for 140 Coins. For Black Forest Buffet Platter in particular, you’ll also need a Woodland Herb Blend. The witch sells them in bundles of 5 for 120 Coins, but only after you’ve defeated the boss of the Black Forest – the Elder.

Deer Stew is a fairly advanced Black Forest recipe that requires Cooked Deer Meat, Blueberries, and a Carrot. You’ll need a Cooking Station to cook Deer Meat and a Cauldron to prepare the Deer Stew itself.

Thistle is a glowing plant you’ll find growing in the Black Forest and Swamp biomes. Because it glows, Thistle is one of the rare resources that’s easier to find at night. When picked, it respawns after 240 minutes.

Queen’s Jam is a simple Black Forest recipe that’s cooked in a basic Cauldron. You’ll need 8 Raspberries and 6 Blueberries to cook it, but this will get you 4 portions of Queen’s Jam.

When you have the ingredients, simply assemble a Black Forest Buffet Platter at a Food Preparation Table (Iron x5, Finewood x20, Leather Scraps x15) by combining 3 Deer Stew, 5 Thistle, 4 Queen’s Jam, and a Woodland Herb Blend. Then use a Serving Tray to place it on a flat surface.

Uses

As of this writing, Feasts are only used for eating and as base decorations.

Placing a Feast

Feasts are a unique type of food that can’t be eaten directly from your inventory and first need to be placed in the world. You’ll need a Serving Tray for that. Assign a Serving Tray to your hotbar and select it there. Clicking the right mouse button will open the Serving Tray crafting menu with tabs that allow you to place foods and Meads down as decorations. You’ll also see a Feasts tab there. Select it and choose your Feast there, then place it on a flat surface.

Don’t be misled by the Serving Tray description that suggests you need a table for a Feast. They can actually be placed on any flat surface. Once a Feast is placed, approach and interact with it to eat it. You can eat from any Feast up to 10 times before it runs out. When you’re done with a Feast and want to clean up after yourself, you can go into the Serving Tray menu and select the Remove function.

Eating a Feast

When you eat a portion of a Feast, it acts as a regular food you eat from your inventory. When consumed, Black Forest Buffet Platter increases your health by 35, stamina by 35, and health regeneration by 3 hp/tick for 50 minutes. This buff can be combined with up to two other food types, but you can’t eat from a Feast more than one bite at a time.

The buff you get from eating a Black Forest Buffet Platter will start out strong but will eventually start to fade. When there’s just 50% left in its duration, or 25 minutes, the buff icon will begin to flash, allowing you to eat from the Feast again to refresh the effects.

Helpful Tips

  • Black Forest Buffet Platter is a Black Forest-tier feast that primarily uses ingredients found in the Black Forest and Meadows biomes. However, you will still need to explore the Swamp to find the Bog Witch and purchase the herbs and a Serving Tray from her, and get some Iron to create a Food Preparation Table
  • You’ll be able to start buying Woodland Herb Blends from the Bog Witch after you’ve defeated the Elder, who’s the Black Forest boss
  • A freshly placed Feast can be removed and added back to your inventory, but if you’ve eaten from it even once, removing a Feast will destroy it completely
