The Southern Coast is one of the most breathtaking areas in the Talos Principle 2, with a gorgeous beach and stunning structures dotted all around the mesas and beaches. What hides among them, though, are the solutions to the Sphinx and Pandora Statues, which require both a keen eye and a sharp mind. This guide will help you find those hidden solutions in this stunning area so that you can get their even-more-stunning Stars.
The Star Statue Puzzles in The Talos Principle 2 are puzzles dotted throughout the 12 regions of game, with 2 Statues in each region. Solving them allows you to acquire Stars, and once you have them all, you’ll be able to enter the Astronomical Temple near the Megastructure.
There are 3 different kinds of Star Statue Puzzles: Prometheus Puzzles, which require you to chase his sprites through the region; Pandora Puzzles, which require to you connect her box to a beam to activate; and Sphinx Puzzles, which require you to solve a key placard.
Southern Coast (South 1) Sphinx Puzzle
To start the Sphinx Puzzle on the Southern Coast, start by going past Puzzle 1 to reach the Statue itself along the south coast of the map (Image 1), where you will find the puzzle’s key (Image 2).
The pattern might at first seem esoteric, but it is actually more concrete than you might expect. You can find the place where the Key’s pattern is relevant by going to the right of Puzzle 8 (Image 3) and continuing over some shallow water to reach a mostly complete 4 x 4 grid of plinths (Image 4).
Image 3Image 4
These plinths align with the puzzle in question, but you have to make sure you are correctly aligned. To get the correct alignment, you should be facing North, toward the nearby cliff bottom, or by aligning the grid according to the one missing corner plinth (Image 5).
From here, you will need to activate/push in 6 specific plinths, in accordance with those marked a solid white on the Key. The specific plinths you need to activate are as follows, according to X and Y coordinates: (1,3), (2,4), (3,1), (3,2), (3,3), and (4,2). (Image 6)

Once you have activated the correct combination of plinths, an audio cue and message will indicate the puzzle has been solved, meaning you can return to the Sphinx Statue to collect your Star (Image 7).

Southern Coast (South 1) Pandora Puzzle
To begin the Pandora Puzzle in the Southern Coast, start by heading to the Pandora Statue (Image 1). It is fairly close to Puzzle 5 (Image 2), if you have trouble.

While you are at the Pandora statue, take note of the incomplete Connector going to the Green Receiver on Pandora’s box, which you can locate with the dotted beam and will be important to keep the location of in mind as you go forward (Image 3). It will be under the Transport Station.

To begin to complete the beam and power the Green Receiver, you should head to Puzzle 4 (Image 4), which you can enter via the rear if needed (Image 5).
Once there, grab the Puzzle’s connector and connect it to the Connector under the Transport Station (Image 6). Then, swing to your right and look past the nearest mesa to try to locate a connector atop the further one (Image 7). It may be hard to see, so look for the “Connect” prompt on the bottom of your screen. Once the Connector has connected to both others, make sure both are highlighted and set the Connector down (Image 8).

Next, go to Puzzle 2 (Image 9). Begin by placing the Teleporter outside of the purple cage holding the Drill (Image 10), and then using that to grab the Drill and teleport out of the purple cage (Image 11). Then, walk to the cliff near the Puzzle’s entrance and look down toward the beach; you will see a drillable wall which you can use the Drill on in order to reveal a Green Generator (Image 12).

With the Green Generator revealed, you can then use the Puzzle’s Connector to connect to it (Image 13), and then to the Connector on the top of the nearby mesa (where you connected Puzzle 4’s Connector) (Image 14). If done correctly and in this order, you will have a Green beam connecting both points, which will in turn connect all the way back to the Green Receiver on Pandora’s Box (Image 15). If you have done everything correctly, you will receive an audio cue indicating you’ve completed the puzzle.

Once you receive the audio cue, you can head back to Pandora’s Statue and pick up a new Star (Image 16).

Collecting both Stars in the region will make progress toward opening up the Astronomical Temple outside the Megastructure, but you will need all 24 Stars from each of the 12 Regions in order to do so. Check out our other Star Statue guides for information.
