K.O.F. All Stars Mobile Review

Fighting games like Street Fighter and King of Fighters definitely have held some great memories for most of us over the past few decades. Unique character design with some great melee and combo combat has brought us fun and joy to the fullest.

K.O.F. All Stars (a.k.a. King of Fighter All Star) created by Netmarble Corp. Authorized by S.N.K. Corp. (Shin Nihon Kikaku), the original creator of K.O.F. games, it was release on 26 July 2018 with only a Japanese server temporary.

K.O.F. All Stars is definitely one of the most visually satisfying fighting games on a mobile platform. The simple play style and intense background music that syncs well as the characters are battling feels epic.

Each character has 4 skills in total, 3 normal combo skills and one Ultimate. Some skills unlock as your character progress the levels. The character can have a 3 star rank up to the highest rank of 6 stars. They are also bound to a maximum level limit system, whereby you need to unlock it in order for your character to reach the maximum level of 90.

Battle cards are categorized into option cards, set cards and special cards. they’re mainly to enhance the stats of the characters and provide them with some passive buffs like lifesteal. When you pair your character with the correct special card, your character gains an additional ultimate skill.

Even though K.O.F. All Stars released only a few months ago this game already has a lot of events going on already. Like Summer Athena, Halloween, Christmas and even a collaboration with an anime series “Gintama.”

These events are a great chance for you to get your hands on seasonal limited edition characters.

Game modes are categorized as battle and quest. In battle you can play in an arena to imrpove your ranking. When battling in arena, you can choose to use auto-mode or manually control the fight.

Auto-mode are also separated into 2 categories, with skills and without skills. There are both pros and cons between these two same goes for manually control.  Auto-mode attack in battle without skills is where you can control the skills with your own timing. Auto-mode attack in battle without skills is when the A.I. helps you to use your skills.

Quests are categorized into 4 modes which is story quest, special quest, event quest and fighter quest. Story quest is where the main storyline is told. Special quest is a place for you to earn coins and materials for characters to level up and evolve to higher star ranks with. Event quest is the mode for seasonal events like Halloween, Christmas and Athena Summer.

Fighter quest is a 1 vs 1 against the CPU. using the characters that you have obtained from drawing cards. Based on the year of your character, for example year 1997 fighter quest is your year 1997 character battle with a 1997 random character of the CPU.
