Ubisoft Releases Interview with Giancarlo Esposito and Anthony Gonzales

Right on the heels of Far Cry 6’s leaked announcement and release date Ubisoft confirmed the next iteration in their hit series with a chilling story trailer and an interview with the actor who plays the game’s main antagonist Anton Castillo. Castillo is played by legendary actor Giancarlo Esposito, known for his brief role in the NBC sitcom Community and for his acclaimed performance as villain Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, but Esposito is not the only actor interviewed, and it is not Esposito who steal’s the show. Both the trailer and the interview focus on Castillo’s son Diego, played by Coco’s Anthony Gonzales, a pivotal character in the game’s story.

In the interview Gonzales said “The players that play Far Cry 6 might feel a bit bad for Diego because he’s had to live in the shadow of his father Anton Castillo and they might want to try to help him,” hinting at both elements of the so far unknown story and the character’s fundamental tragedy. What we do know is that however Far Cry 6’s story unfolds Diego will be at the center of it – either as an ally forced to turn against his father or as a young villain in his own right, someone who never had a chance at any other life.

Both the leak and Ubisoft’s coverage so far have focused Anton Castillo, but Diego Castillo may just be the main focus of the game’s story – and more interesting as well!
