Tidal Fall 2d Platformer Indie Shout Out

Tidal Fall tells the story of a rock man faced with tragedy. By rock man we’re not talking the likes of Alice Cooper or Ozzie Osborne but an actual man made of stone. There he is just minding his own business, doing his best not to gather any moss when the ocean starts to rise on the island he’s on. We’ll he can’t just do nothing. Water will erode him to a pile of sand in a matter of centuries. So, there’s nothing for it, he’s going to have to stop this and save his island.

Tidal Fall is a 2D platformer developed by Fanatic Studios, a one man team, dedicated to designing and creating innovative gaming experiences for mobile devices and personal computers.

There are over 60 levels of bouncy, tippy, obstacle course rocky goodness with a smattering of deadly bosses to thwart as you go. Plus, there’s the story of a brave rock erm”¦ person defending his home from the increasingly rising tides of the ocean.

Hang on. If it’s a sandy island, is the sand on the island all of the bodies of the rock men who’ve failed in their quest before him, and dies succumbing to the waves? Is it like Battlestar Galactica or Mass Effect where everyone is stuck in a permanent loop doomed to repeat the same mistakes?

Wow, that’s dark.

That was a little off point, but if bouncing around a colorful 2d environment saving your home is your thing, then Tidal Fall is worth taking a look at.

Anyway, if your virtual whistle has been well and truly whetted and you want to find out more about Tidal Fall then head over to GameJolt and take a look, or head over to the official Tidal Fall site.

Tidal Jolt will be available on PC (Mac, Windows, Linux) and mobile (Android) for around £3.
