Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition Available Now

Just over a week after its announcement, the re-release of 2014’s Mercenary Kings is available on PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. It’s also available as a free update for people who already own the base game.

Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition is a frantic and violent action platformer with a style reminiscent of Metal Slug. Players go out on missions to kill targets, collect resources and eventually craft better gear, in a loop not too dissimilar to the Monster Hunter series. While it is playable entirely in single player, there is a big focus on co-operative play, with support for up to four players in online or local play, depending on the platform.

“We rejoice ourselves to finally release the reloaded edition of Mercenary Kings, which design was partly based on the community’s feedback. We are very grateful for the infatuation the fans have shown and wanted to thank them with this reloaded edition while at the same time making the game available to all platforms,” says Jean-Francois Major, co-founder at Tribute Games.

It’s good to see the devs taking feedback to heart, and even better to see them release this enhanced version as an update for existing players. We’ll have a review of the Switch version up in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for our verdict!
