Builds – Helldivers 2

Beneath the thick layers of Democracy and Liberty, Helldivers 2 is, at its core, an extraction shooter with a militarized aesthetic. And, befitting that military theming, Helldivers 2 has a lot of customization when it comes to selecting your build (or loadout) when preparing to dive. In fact, it offers so much that it can become overwhelming, and it can be hard to decide how to kit up in preparation from the drop.

That’s where we come in. By sorting through the boosters, armor effects, weapons, grenades, and — most importantly — stratagems, we have created these builds after extensive testing in order to cater to many possible playstyles. Each build below has some key strengths that make it viable, and we’ve highlighted those, as well as their general purpose, so that you can decide which to take on a mission.

Within each build, there is a full loadout, a summary, an explanation of each element, a general strategy, and a recommendation for team composition, which should enable you to go in fully prepared every time you dive. And so, without further ado, here are our builds/loadouts for Helldivers 2!

Primary Features: The ability to burn away everything except for the game’s largest enemies with relative ease.

Making a build whose main task is as simple as “burn it with fire” doesn’t sound tricky, but anyone who’s dropped down with a full accent of flame-based stratagems and weapons knows how quickly things can get out of hand. This build combines pyromania with practicality in order to be a generally effective build that capitalizes on what works about fire-based weaponry in Helldivers 2, while still taking into account its drawbacks.

Primary Feature: Destruction of bug and bot bases from a distance, allowing you to stay mobile while eliminating hives and factories.

There is nothing easier than tossing a stratagem marker into an enemy base, right? We think so, too. But, knowing what to throw is only half the battle — the other half is knowing the best way to do so. And this Toss and Forget Bombardment Build has both, ensuring you are able to quickly destroy the bases of the enemies of the democracy and then move on, hives and factories collapsing in your wake.

Primary Feature: A general-use build for taking on Automatons, this open-ended build should give you everything you need to take them on.

Sometimes, you just want to kill bots. And that’s what this build is good for: killing bots. While it is not as specialized as other builds, it should be suited for taking on most threats you will encounter on Automaton Missions, and is a great place to start for making variations for your own builds.

Having a good equipment package is the cornerstone of a successful Helldive, and so we hope this page will be helpful for you to more easily destroy the many enemies of Super Earth. This page will be updated each time our Super Earth engineers discover a new loadout, but in the meantime, we want YOUR feedback, diver: Want to see any specific builds? Maybe you think one of ours could use some work? Let us know in the comments below, and then pick your favorite build and hit that dirt, Diver!
