All Lighthouse Puzzles – Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Your Lighthouse comes with a multi-part puzzle to solve, which rewards you with a little bit of goodies and a permanent discount on all of the Caretaker’s Upgrades! Though you can start the puzzle as soon as you get access to the Lighthouse early in the game, you can’t complete it until you are further along in the story. In this guide we will go over when these different parts of the puzzle become available to solve and how to solve each of them.

  • Requirements: You can start the puzzle as soon as you can move freely around the Lighthouse.

To begin, head behind Bellara‘s room (open the map to see her icon). Here you will see a statue you can interact with (1), and a note that tells you that you need to find 3 sets of statues and rotate them so that the pairs face each other.

Here are the locations of each pair:

  • Behind Bellara and Neve‘s rooms, (1 and 2)
  • Both are above the door leading to the courtyard (you will have to go up the stairs on either side) (3 and 4)
  • Just south of the Library (follow the balcony south from previous location), and by the Dining Hall (5 and 6)

You can do these in any order. Once all three sets are facing each other, you will hear a clicking noise — this is an indicator that the Music Room in the Library/main building has been unlocked. Head back into the main building and look for a circular door off to the right.

  • Requirements: The rest of the puzzle (Parts 2-4) will require you to progress through Chapter 8, “Shades of the Blight” (after you recruit Taash and Emmrich).

Head inside the previously unlocked Music Room. There will now be another circular door on the left side — it will require two Wisps to open (note the two pedestals).

One is right by the piano, and the other will be “between the facing gods”, up the stairs above the entrance door to the courtyard, where the two statues from the first puzzle were next to each other. Bring each to the pedestals framing the circular door in the Music Room.

This will open the door, revealing a portal that will take you to the final part of the puzzle.

Heading through the portal will take you to a new balcony in the Library. Follow the corridor to the mezzanine/balcony. Here you will see some items and a blue crystal object to the left — this is the Astrolabe. Simply interact with it to turn it on, restoring power to The Lighthouse.

Collect the items and the chest here, then bring the Wisp from the mezzanine back down the corridor, to a single pedestal by the circular door. It will take you outside where you can get some more items and then activate a beam.

Once you begin the quest After the Storm, you can go through the portal in the music room, and now there will be another Wisp door in front of you. Bring the Wisp from the indoor balcony to the new door, then head outside to find a beam mechanism. Activate the beam by putting the crystal back into the mechanism, then point it at each of the towers once for the Wisps to come out of them (you only need the one beam for this).

Head back indoors — you can hop off of the mezzanine here back into the library. Now, look for the second circular door, directly opposite from the Music Room. Head inside, then through the portal, and collect the rest of the loot.

While you do get some items in the final parts of the puzzle, these are simply common materials and items you can find anywhere. The true prize happens once you activate the Astrolabe in Part 3, where The Caretaker offers a permanent discount on all upgrades!

Needing fewer materials to upgrade your gear will help take off some of the pressure of gathering them. It’s a good idea to do this quest as soon as you can!
