Keepsakes are a unique piece of equipment that most of your Companions can equip — Lucanis, Taash, and Davrin will get off-hand weapons or shields instead. For the Companions that do get one, it will act as their off-hand slot, and while they do not give any direct damage or Stagger, they will provide various buffs that can help shape the build of your Companion.
In this guide, we will go over how to obtain these Keepsakes, and what they do.
Where to Find Keepsakes
In general, Keepsakes can be found the same way as any other pieces in the game — either by opening chests that give equipment or buying them from Merchants.
There’s also a chance that you’ll get one as a reward for completing a Companion quest. However, these can take a while to find, as each Companion only has 3 different Keepsakes they can get.
Keepsake Properties
As Keepsakes aren’t a traditional piece of equipment, they do not give direct damage, armor, or stagger like weapons and armor do. Instead, just about every Keepsake will give a boost to healing — the only exception is Neve’s Old News Clipping, which will give a boost to Critical damage instead.
Once you increase the rarity, they can give up to two more bonuses that will enhance your build in a specific and sometimes niche way. Harding for example, can either use a Keepsake to enhance Precision for you and herself, or she can use another one that will allow her to apply Bleeding stacks quickly and take advantage of Bleeding enemies.
List of Keepsakes
Here is what each Keepsake does for every character that can equip one:
Your Critical Ability hits leech a portion of damage (uncommon)
Heal an additional 10% of your maximum health when your Critical Ability hits defeat an enemy (rare)
Crowned Focus
% Increased Healing (Gear Level Dependent)
Your Critical Ability hits apply Necrosis (uncommon)
Apply Necrosis to all nearby enemies when your Critical Ability hits defeat an enemy (rare)
Metal Plated Focus
% Increased Healing (Gear Level Dependent)
Emmrich’s Ability cooldowns are reduced by 10% (uncommon)
Your other companion’s cooldowns are reduced by 10 seconds whenever Emmrich’s Abilities defeat an enemy (rare)
These Keepsakes can give powerful boosts for your builds, especially if your build focuses on a specific element or dealing Critical damage, so be sure to keep an eye out for these!
